Join us for an evening with Greyfield Inn’s award-winning chef, Whitney Otawka, to celebrate her new cookbook, The Saltwater Table: Recipes from the Coastal South

Please join us at Greyfield Inn on Saturday, December 7th, for a book signing and celebration of Chef Whitney Otawka’s newly released cookbook,  The Saltwater Table: Recipes from the Coastal SouthExplore the storied region of the Southeast and the natural bounty of our very own Cumberland Island through Whitney’s culinary muse, the five seasons of the Coastal South.

For Dinner Guests Only (per person cost is $150 + service charge of $34.50 + sales tax of $12.92 = $197.42 per person)

  • Guests will take the 4:30pm ferry, arriving at Greyfield Inn at 5:15pm
  • 5:30pm: Join us for Cocktails & Conversations — a talk and book signing with Whitney Otawka, chef and author of The Saltwater Table
  • 6:00pm to 7:00pm: Oyster Roast with Whitney Otawka, where guests will enjoy local Cumberland Island oysters
  • 7:00pm: Dinner in Greyfield Inn’s dining room. Menu will be based on recipes from The Saltwater Table cookbook. Optional wine pairings will be available at an additional cost.
  • **Cost of dinner includes one “Old Man and the Sea” alcoholic beverage from The Saltwater Table cookbook, as well as a copy of the book
  • 9:00pm: Guests to arrive at ferry for departure from Cumberland Island, arriving in Fernandina at 10:00pm

For Overnight Guests:

  • Greyfield is offering one night stays (at the regular rates) for those who wish to experience the evening and also enjoy more time at Greyfield Inn! Dinner is included.
  • Guests may arrive on either the 9:30am or 12:15pm ferry on Saturday
  • Friday night guests will enjoy a special Saturday Christmas tour of Plum Orchard hosted by the National Park Service — Learn more HERE
  • Greyfield Inn will offer an afternoon tour of the Greyfield Garden with culinary gardeners Russell Honderd and Monica Ponce. Our 1.5-acre garden supplies the inn with a variety of fresh produce, herbs, fruit, and cut flowers. During the tour, learn how the gardeners’ provide Greyfield’s kitchen with beautiful seasonal produce, as well as their sustainable and organic growing practices (including composting, cover cropping, and crop rotation).
