Join us for a Painting Workshop with West Fraser at Greyfield Inn!
February 27 – March 2, 2017
Special Book-Signing with West Fraser on February 26
This is a special opportunity to study and paint with West Fraser on Cumberland Island, GA – one of Fraser’s favorite places of inspiration and the subject of several of his paintings. The 3-day workshop will be an intensive immersion into the world of plein-air painting on the beautiful setting of Georgia’s Golden Isles, with one of the nation’s premiere plein-air painters. Fraser will personally work with each participant on the ideas and theories of color, the illusion of light, and how to create a naturalistic plein-air painting. The workshop will also include demonstrations from West and artist critique. Learn the what, when, why, & how of outdoor painting with us this February!
Participants should be ready and prepared to paint on location on a remote island. Prior experience with on-location painting and equipment is suggested. Prior to the workshop, equipment suggestions will be emailed to each participant.
Sunday, 26 February, 2017
In the evening, Greyfield Inn will host a special book-signing event with West Fraser (*optional, more details to come). This is a separate event, and there will be an additional nightly room charge (at a discounted rate) for those who choose to come a night early. For guests who choose to attend the book-signing event only, we are happy to accept one-night bookings.
